Why You Should Use Vitamin C Serum

Have you noticed all of the skincare choices on the market?
Vitamin C Serum might be the single most important specialty product to add to your daily skincare regimen. Vitamin C serum will combat and protect you against the harmful effects of Sun as well as work to fight free radicals with its potent antioxidant. We have all realized that UV rays are often responsible for skin cancer and a good vitamin C serum will supply you with a natural option for added protection. As you can imagine one of the best features with using vitamin c serum will be reduced fine lines and wrinkles.
When looking to purchase a Vitamin C Serum it is necessary to pay close attention to the concentration of vitamin C contained in the product. Be very cautious when looking at most lotions as they have such a small amount of vitamin c so they can merely claim it is in the product that in the end will offer little to no benefit to your skin. You will be throwing your dollars down the tube as those types of lotions offer no real benefit to the skin at all except a momentary moisturized look. Many of these lotions come from well established companies that will charge exorbitant amounts for of money for their products on name alone. Serums can be very expensive due to the fact that vitamin c (ascorbic acid) is very difficult to formulate because of it instability.
A good stable vitamin c serum will give you added stimulation f0r collagen cell formation which will result in a more youthful appearance due to reduced fine lines and wrinkles. Additionally, it will in fact work to replenish your skin with all the necessary ingredients that are caused by exposure to the environment, stress and poor diet. Overall Vitamin C serum packs a powerful punch for the skin.
This article brought to you by Carol Clifton will explain why Vitamin C Serum is so critical for beautiful skin. It has been brought to you by Carol Clifton, a SeneGence Sense Cosmetics Consultant, makers of LipSense Semi Permanent lipstick and owner of several beauty blogs.

Risks of Rhinoplasty Surgery

The most recognizable feature on many peoples face is their nose. If you have a nose you like that’s great, but many people were born with noses they wish they could change. This is easily fixed through rhinoplasty surgery. It doesn’t matter if you want to make your nose smaller or bigger, an Irvine rhinoplasty specialist can help you.
When considering rhinoplasty surgery the first thing to decide is just how you would like your nose to look. With this information the cosmetic surgeon has a starting place from which to work. Many people will search for a photo of some famous person whose nose they like and will bring this with them to their first consultation.
Once you and the surgeon have an idea about how you’d like your nose to look you should discuss the rhinoplasty procedure with the cosmetic surgeon. There are both open rhinoplasty procedures and closed rhinoplasty procedures; the differences is if the surgeon needs to open your nasal passageway during the procedure. In many cases you’ll get the best looking results from the open procedure though there is a small chance of scarring and the recovery takes longer than with a closed procedure.
In the open procedure the cosmetic surgeon will have better access to the tissue and cartilage of your nose so he or she can do a better job reshaping your nose. The closed procedure is usually fine for smaller adjustments and it does have the benefit of faster recovery. The closed procedure is often more expensive as well since it will take longer as the surgeon is working in the small spaces. You’re the only person who can decide which procedure is better for you. Your rhinoplasty doctor should be able to help you make the decision on which procedure is better suited to you.
While the outside of the nose may look simple, the nasal passageways inside are fairly complex. This complexity does mean there are some risks of complication following rhinoplasty, but typically they are minor. Common side effects include swelling and bleeding which typically goes away within a few days to one week. You cannot simply pinch your nose to stop the nose bleeds, but your cosmetic surgeon will be able to give you other ways to combat nose bleeds after rhinoplasty.
Rhinoplasty is consider an elective surgery and is not covered by most insurance plans. This means you will need to pay for the rhinoplasty yourself in most cases. If you can prove that your rhinoplasty is being done to correct a medical problem though you may be able to get insurance to cover some of the costs. Another popular option is to have your Irvine rhinoplasty financed. Many cosmetic surgeons are now offering a financing option making it even easier to pay for your rhinoplasty.
Cost shouldn’t be the main deciding factor on who to use for your rhinoplasty. You need to be comfortable with and have confidence in your Irvine cosmetic surgeon. It may take time to find the right cosmetic surgeon for you, but it’s definitely worth it to look around.

Be a Real Head-Turner With the Smoky Eye Makeup

Smoky eyes have been the existing fad among glamorous girls today and there is no sign that this trend is leading to its demise. Smoky eyes boast of dark and sultry eyes and are considered romantic and a great beauty booster. Even on the early days, smoky eyes are a great hit to women who want to look fabulous. While the result of having a smoky eye makeup is worth everything, its application can be pretty messy. If done in the wrong way, this can lead to an eye makeup disaster. To make you look good and stand out in the crowd, you need to follow several guides to achieve a beautiful smoky eye effect.
When attending dinner, rock concerts, and other special events, the smoky eye effect can truly solicit admiring looks across the room. Your glam-looking eyes could grab everyone’s attention. To achieve this, these tips could be very helpful in creating a wonderful smoky eye. Having a smoky eye effect, you need to use first the eye makeup primer. Applying the primer can even be done with the use of your index primer. Squirt a little drop of primer in your finger if it comes in a tube and then tap the primer over the eyelid starting from the lash line going to the eyebrow until it perfectly blends in your eyes. By doing this it will help not lead to any creases and help your smoky eye effect last throughout the event.
After the primer application, you need to use a transparent loose powder on the eyelids in order to absorb the oil in order for the makeup to last longer. Doing this can also contribute to a smoother surface when applying makeup. Neutral shades like grays and browns can make the smoky eye look more modern and sophisticated. You can also use a waterproof mascara and an eyeliner to prevent having raccoon eyes.
The best shade to choose when wanting to have a smoky eye makeup, choose the shade that is a touch brighter than the tone of your skin. Take a taupe eye shadow and put a big potion of it in the middle of your upper eyelid. After this, blend it up and outward so the color can be visible right above the crease and the outer corners of your eyes. You then need to take a cotton swab in order to draw a ling of eye shadow along the lower lash line. Use a clean cotton swab in order to smudge a line of the dark brown shadow on your eyelid’s outer third of the top. For more irresistible smoky eyes, use an eyelash curler to curl your lashes right after the first coat of your mascara.
Following these steps is really easy. It is helpful to women who are constantly attending special functions like dinners and other important events. Smoky eye makeup is also popular among Hollywood celebrities so makes it an even more popular eye makeup style to women from all walks of life.

New Professional Makeup Tricks

Most of us just can’t wait to finally get out our summer clothing and start showing some leg…
I’m sure you’ve all seen what I’ve been seeing: women in summer skirts with very white legs, sandals on “winter” feet, and a bunch of women (myself included) who are freezing cold, because the second there’s a little sunshine, we’re in short sleeves.
I’m sure that you, as I, are passionate about beauty and personal image. I’m sure that you like to show your best side, but you’re probably a little confused with the changing of the seasons. That’s why today I’ve decided to show you some tricks that we professionals & fashion stylists use to quickly and easily refresh our image and adapt to the new season. I promise that these tricks won’t leave you out in the cold!
NEW TRICKS FOR BRINGING OUT YOUR BEST
SELF-TANNER
I admit, it’s still a bit of a mystery, and it is better to be white than orange. However, unless you spent your spring vacation on the beach, chances are that your skin is a little pale, even greenish looking, and a little color really brightens up anyone’s face (and body).
Self-tanners really will do the trick - you’ll look phenomenal! However, there are some steps you should take to get the results you’re looking for with your self-tanner.
Here are some hints:

• Exfoliate, but not with a horsehair glove or the like. Use an exfoliator that contains moisturizing oils. If you don’t, your skin will be very dry and the self-tanner won’t be absorbed evenly over your skin.

• Make sure you’ve dried yourself off completely before application or you’ll get patchy results.

• Choose a self-tanner suited to your skin. You can find products for light or dark skin.

• If you have sunspots or if your upper lip tends to darken when you sunbathe, don’t use self-tanner on your face, because in most cases it makes the uneven pigmentation more obvious.

• Choose a tanner made especially for the face, but if you apply the product correctly, the effect would be the same anyway.

• Wash your hands well and let the product dry and be completely absorbed before you get dressed.

• The first day after application, I recommend wearing dark-colored clothing.

• To intensify your tan, apply an iridescent moisturizing lotion. You may want to put a touch of bronzing powder over your collarbone.
My favorite self-tanner is:
LAVERA SELF TANNING - SUN SENSITIVE

This is an ideal self-tanner for those of you who have sensitive skin that’s very pale, like I do. It is very natural-looking, it’s odor-free, and it absorbs quickly. The ingredients are also 100% natural.
It’s available from herbalists and organic stores.
Another interesting brand is GLOW FUSION by Sephora. It comes in a spray, but it’s fairly easy to use. The smell is not particularly pleasant, but it doesn’t last long.
Available from Sephora

If you’re in a hurry and on a budget, use Comodynes towelettes, sold in drug stores.
GET HIGHLIGHTS

A summertime face is always flattered by some face-framing golden or chocolate brown highlights (depending on your natural hair color). They will lighten your face and add a touch of sun, like you’ve just been to the Carribean.
Another option is to use a color wash in the same shade as your hair to add natural-looking shine and fashion stylist.
Of course, if you’re feeling bold, there’s nothing like changing your hair color to overhaul your image and feel like new. But before making any radical changes, make sure that your new shade goes with your style.
MANICURE AND PEDICURE - WHAT TO DO?

First of all, if you’re going to wear sandals, get a pedicure! If you can’t go to a salon, give yourself one at home, but avoid wearing sandals with unpainted toenails or without preparing your feet for the summer.
My favorite colors are:

For hands, the eternally stylish French manicure, and for feet, color and more color. Chanel has a new dark blue that is just beautiful, and the pink shades that Dior has put out are very sexy. I prefer colorful toenails and discreet fingernails.
Once you’re a little more tanned, you can go for an orange enamel.
CLOTHING: COLD, HOT… “WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?”

Good question. Now is the time to take out those shirts with quarter-length or long sleeves, especially those in white. If you feel warm, roll your sleeves up to your elbow. Wear a straight pant and peep-toe sandals (you know, the shoes with the open toes), and you’ll look fabulous.
If you have a cardigan, you can wear it with almost anything… Wear it over a long or short-sleeved shirt, or even over one of those dresses that they’re showing so much again this summer, that you probably have from last season.
Colored pashmina shawls are another article of clothing that can help you add a touch of color to your look, plus they can help keep you warm if it’s chilly out. Choose one in fuchsia, yellow, green, or electric blue - it’ll be super-flattering.
A fine black leather or suede jacket can be a great go-to piece to pair with almost everything.

Rhinoplasty Explained

Basically, rhinoplasty is simply changing the look of the nose. Whether it is the size or shape or for medical or cosmetic reasons it is all the same. A rhinoplasty is done by a cosmetic surgeon first making an incision either inside (most common) or outside the nose. This is done to gain access to the tissue and cartilage of the nose. Next, the plastic surgeon either removes, adds or rearranges the cartilage and tissue to get the appearance desired.
Once the nose’s size and shape is how the surgeon wants it he will fold some of the nasal tissue over the incision and close the wound. A splint is then applied to the nose both to help it hold the new shape and to keep it safe from unintentional contact. The plastic surgeon may also pack the nostrils with a soft absorbent material to maintain the new shape. If necessary the cosmetic surgeon can also make a support to help with breathing.
When packing is used to help with the shape of the new nose it can usually be removed after a day or two. The splint remains in place for 7-10 days and then is replaced with a smaller splint that will help to stabilize the new construction and keep the nose straight. During this first week most patients have considerable swelling bruising and sometimes pain.
If you want your new nose job to heal properly you must follow the cosmetic surgeon’s advice and instructions. To help with the inevitable swelling and bruises cold compresses are used and these will also help to alleviate some of the pain. Pain medications are also commonly prescribed to help with the pain. In addition, you’ll be told not to blow your nose during this first week or two to help with the healing process and avoid unnecessary bleeding.
Most plastic surgeons recommend that you keep the head elevated for the first few days after your rhinoplasty. This will prevent blood from accumulating in the nose where it can create pressure, additional swelling and bleeding and in some cases even cause damage to the new nasal structure. It’s recommended that exercise be avoided for several weeks after your nose job and many plastic surgeons also recommend that you avoid direct exposure to the sun.
By following your plastic surgeons advice you can make sure that all the work and expense of your rhinoplasty isn’t wasted. The first week may be difficult, but just think of how wonderful your new nose is going to look. That should be all the incentive you need to follow proper rhinoplasty care.
You can get more information about rhinoplasty surgery at the authors website where you will also find details about Irvine rhinoplasty specifically.

Organic Shampoo - Stop Damaging Your Hair!

All of us like to look our best and one of the easiest ways for us to do this is to take good care of the hair that we have. Even though many of us wash our hair on a daily basis in an attempt to take care of it, we may actually be doing more damage than good. That is because many of the commercial shampoos that are available on the market contain items that are simply not good for our hair. This is the reason that many individuals have switched over to organic shampoo in order to make sure that their hair is as healthy as possible.
There are countless reasons why organic shampoo is better than a commercialized shampoo which contains chemicals. First of all, it is going to be gentle on your hair and is going to make your hair have a natural glow that is simply not possible with regular shampoo. Secondly, many of us are allergic to some of the chemicals that are in shampoo, even though we are not always aware of it. For example, do you have a problem with your back itching on a regular basis? This is often because of the shampoo that we are using running across our back as we are rinsing our hair.
There are plenty of companies on the Internet which offer organic shampoo but it is also possible for you to make your own shampoo as well. All you really need is an organic shampoo recipe and you will generally find that there are many of these available. Typically, they contain various household items so you need to make them up on a regular basis instead of making up a large batch of them and then storing them for later use.
Organic shampoo is not only for your hair, there are also a lot of other types of organic shampoo that can be used in the house. A good example of this is the type of shampoo that is used whenever we are cleaning our carpets. If we were to use a commercial shampoo that contains chemicals that we are allergic to, we would constantly be exposed to those chemicals through contact with the carpet. Not only that, by spraying these chemicals over a large area on our carpet, we would be breathing them in on a daily basis as well.

What is Sculptra and Why Does it Enhance Your Appearance?

PLLA (Poly-1-lactic acid), a.k.a. Sculptra, was approved by the FDA in 2004 for the treatment of AIDS-related facial lipoatrophy. It is inserted by injection into the subcutaneous tissue and stimulates fibroplasia. A number of injections are required, but the aesthetic results for hollow cheek have been impressive. In the European clinical studies, the result remained for 18 to 24 months. Aesthetic use of Poly-1-lactic acid is considered off-label, but has been utilized for pan facial enhancement. It is very important to insert this product in the correct plane. Injection into the dermis could increase the risk of granuloma formation.
Here’s how PLLA works.
Dissolution of fat on the face results in dramatic alteration in looks and may be caused by hereditary syndromes, disease or aging. In natural ageing, it takes place in the form of loss of elasticity, breakdown of collagen and bone reabsorption. This sinking due to loss of volume leads to excess skin.
Various classifications of lipoatrophy depending upon anatomic considerations have been reported. Trying to correct by tightening the skin without addressing volume replacement results in a sunken appearance. Replacing the volume has been attempted by a host of naturally-occurring (fat, collagen, hyaluronic acid) and man-made (acrylates, silicone and other polymers) fillers, both permanent and biodegradable (i.e. the body can break them down). PLLA (Poly-L-lactic acid, marketed in US and Europe as Sculptra, represents a novel family of fibroblastic fillers whose ‘bulking effect’ depends upon the response of the host.
Injectable Poly-L-lactic acid, a.k.a. Sculptra, is a biocompatible, reabsorbable material that results in a purposeful inflammatory response to foreign body, skin cell regeneration and a slow metabolic breakdown of the polymer material. Microsopic and clinical data suggest long-term results, which may last for longer than 2 years. Currently, PLLA is FDA-approved solely for the purpose of AIDS-related lipoatrophy, and esthetic applications are ‘off-label’, even though randomised clinical trials for aesthetic use are at this time almost done. Numerous documentations recapitulate the biological end products and treatment of lipoatrophy with PLLA.
Kaesthetics is a cosmetic clinic which offers non-surgical injectable treatments such as Sculptra around Surrey area, and is an accredited Sculptra treatment centre.

Hair Straighteners For Thick Hair

Thick hair has its pros and cons. On the positive side, it is really more noticeable and it looks more vibrant and healthy. However, it demands more attention and care, especially if it’s long as well. You will have to use bigger doses of shampoo and conditioner than those who have thinner hair.
You will need more time to comb or brush it and more effort, patience and determination in trying to place every strand in its proper order. If you decide to style or straighten it, you need to be extra cautious of the following points when choosing which hair straightener you would use:
The Promise of Protection
Thick hair, if properly taken care of, looks lustrous. It also appears to be more voluminous than thinner hair. That shine and volume would be wasted if your hair straightener will just suck up all of your hair’s natural moisture. As your thick hair needs high amount of moisture, you ought to find hair straighteners that will preserve, if not heighten your hair’s moisture level.
Such hair straighteners are those that come in ceramic plates and ceramic heating components. A more preferable option are those ceramic plates which offer tourmaline. Tourmaline promotes better maintenance of natural moisture levels as it allows more heat absorption on the plates.
Styling in a Snap
You may think that styling your thick hair will take you a lot of time. That would not be the case if you use a hair straightener which has fast heat-up systems. Choose a hair straightener that will be able to generate heat in just a matter of minutes.
For faster styling, look for hair straighteners that can generate and maintain high temperatures. Look for those products that can offer a consistent heat level of 170°F or more. Remember than higher temperatures will allow you to style your hair immediately without the risk of overly drying or burning it. Rapid styling also saves you some time and effort so you can prepare for other beauty rituals.
Size is Significant
There are various size recommendations for every type of hair. The recommended size is usually based on the texture and the length of the hair. For thick and long hair, the recommended plate size is between 1.5 to three inches. However, do take note that you ought to pick a hair straightener that weighs less - preferably not more than two pounds, even if the plates are thicker and longer. Note that styling can be very tiring if your flat iron is very heavy.
Variable Heating is Vital
You will need to have total control on the heat distribution and heat generation of your hair straightener if you are to use it on a thick shroud of hair. As such, you will have to avail of variable heat straighteners and avoid those that offer limited on and off options and a fixed heat level only. This is because the variability of heat distribution will provide you with more flexibility in hair styling. At the least, your hair straightener should be able to offer you with three temperature levels.

How to Maintain Your Dread Falls, Wigs, Or Extensions to Keep Them Looking Fresh and New!

Often when you wear your dread falls, wigs, or extensions out a lot…they end up getting a little messy after a while. However with a few simple steps, you can keep them looking like they have never been worn before.
First of all, synthetic dreads need to be resealed every so often to maintain their shape. Although the ones that I custom make are double sealed to begin with so they never unravel all the way. But they do get a little puffy after a few party nights out. The main idea behind sealing synthetic hair is re-twisting the dread into the desired shape and sealing the dread with steam. If you have a kettle handy, the best way is to hold the re twisted dread over the steam that comes out of the spout of the teapot. The best teapots I have used are the portable ones you can buy at Target or Wal-mart.
Remember to wear gloves when you do this so you don’t burn your hands. I have learned this from experience!
Second…hang the re sealed dread up on a coat hanger to dry. This will take about two hours to make sure everything is dry.
Third and finally, any frizzy parts that are sticking out of your dread…just trim them with a pair of scissors. Be careful not to trim to much or your dread will fall apart. Just the areas that are extra fuzzy and look messy.
And you’re finished! It’s that easy. After these steps you should have some really nice looking refreshed dreads.
This is especially handy for dread extensions since we were those for weeks at a time. When they need re-braiding, take them out and perform the refreshing techniques in this article. Re-braid them in and you have a new head of hair without purchasing another set.
Hope this helps!
