When to Get Laser Hair Removal

How do you know when it’s a good idea to consider laser cosmetic treatment? It’s true that it certainly is not recommended for everyone. There are specific things that make someone a perfect candidate for a procedure. If you’ve taken an interest in a laser treatment, take the time to learn all that you can about it. Deciding to undergo a laser procedure isn’t something to be taken lightly. Find out if your particular issue or concern is something that you should be discussing in a consultation with a certified laser surgeon. The internet is a wealth of information on the topic and you may find things you never would have thought to consider.
Laser hair removal is especially beneficial to those with true hair hassles. For the lady that only needs to shave once a week, maybe shaving and waxing works just fine. Not everyone has it so easy though. There are some women who are forced to shave daily in order to keep up with the appearance of smooth, hairless legs. Coarse and dark hairs are prime qualities for laser treatment. If you can’t even wear a skirt because it’s so bad then this is something you may want to think about.
If you’ve been drinking and smoking for the majority of your life then you most likely know all about staining of the teeth. Brown liquids and smoke are no good for the enamel of the tooth, slowly turning it yellow over time and then sometimes even brown. It doesn’t look very good and it certainly can’t be healthy for your mouth overall. Now that regular dental offices have adopted lasers for some of their procedures, the whitening of teeth has reached all new heights. With lasers teeth can be effectively whitened much faster than through drugstore products. People suffering from severe staining should consult their dentist to find out if they are eligible to receive laser whitening.
If you really hate that tattoo and you’d be glad to see it go, you might be ready to seek out laser tattoo removal. Everyone who has some ink removed has their own reason why. Regrets can set in over time which is something to be considered before acquiring the ink in the first place. Names are especially poor tattoo choices for this very reason. Even Angelina Jolie regretted her name tattoo. A laser tattoo removal procedure involves breaking down the ink so that it can be swept away by the body’s waste system. To assess if it will work for you, see someone skilled in tattoo removal.
There is no perfect time to get a laser cosmetic treatment. When you know for certain you have an interest it’s time to learn all that you can. Knowledge is essential. Ignorance can put your health at risk. Get informed about the particular procedure that interests you. Make yourself aware of possible scams so that you don’t become a victim. See a surgeon that has reputable experience and makes you feel comfortable. Deciding to seek out a laser treatment is a serious choice. Make it based on the best of information.
Before you undergo any cosmetic laser treatment, educate yourself with the facts. We provide important consumer information that will help you make the best possible decision. For more information on topics such as cosmetic laser treatments, visit http://www.LaserTreatmentFacts.com today.

The Truth About Sun-In

What is Sun-In?
Sun-In is a bleach that permanently discolors the hair bringing out the “natural” highlights in your hair…
Now, you’re probably wondering how healthy this product is for your hair. Sun-In is not the best product to use on your hair. For hair that is light brown to blonde it does lighten it, however hair that is darker will only turn orange.
Usually Sun-In will lighten all the hair you have and not just highlights like it’s suppose to. If it doesn’t lighten your hair the way you want it to, the company recommends you reapply 1-6 times. This is a recommendation that as a stylist, having seen the effects of Sun-In with clients I would not recommend that you follow. Again, IT’S BLEACH, you are to never apply bleach to anyone’s hair more than twice at one time! That should never happen, in a salon or at home.
With Sun-In they recommend you don’t perm or color your hair for 4 weeks. I personally don’t recommend that you perm or color any of your hair that has Sun-In in it. In my experience, women who have permed their hair with Sun-In on it the hair broke off where the product had been applied.
As a stylist and color professional, I won’t even color or perm someones hair that has Sun-In on it unless we are cutting all sections of the hair with the Sun-In product in it. If we colored or permed over the areas with Sun-In on it, the hair would break off or be so damaged that you’d have to cut it anyway.. while that sounds redundant the point needs a level of emphasis to understand the importance of why you don’t color or perm over this product.
Due to the metallics in Sun-In it doesn’t work well with salon/store bought chemicals. Although it may be tempting to try Sun-In because it’s quick and easy, don’t! You’re better off going to the salon and having it done the right way. Otherwise you’ll be paying more to have it fixed than you originally wanted to.
For your own sake, stay away from Sun-In. If you’ve already used it make sure you tell your stylist the next time you go to the salon, so that he/she can take the necessary steps to provide the best service possible.

Myths About Skin Care and Beauty Products

The skin care and beauty products industry is surrounded by truth, untruths, or lies about some of the products we use. Myths can be stories or legends such as those that surround Roman and Greek mythology. For our purposes here, a myth will be considered as an untruth or fictitious claims about skin care products.
Myth 1 says that using a lot of the product will give you quicker results.
The truth is using too much of a product with active ingredients can do more damage than good. Products with vitamin c, retinol, and alpha-hydroxy acids smooth the skin. Beta-hydroxy acids (salicylic), and benzyl peroxide clear acne flare-ups. The products that have these ingredients should be applied extremely lightly. A pea size drop of retinol cream is enough to do the job.
Myth 2 says that we all need to use skin toners.
The truth is most people; around 90% should not be using them.

Toners strip the natural oils that make your skin feel soft. Gentle cleansing is all that’s necessary.
Myth 3 says that you can get addicted to your favorite lip balm.
Lip balms are not as some claim and can be filled with ingredients to dry out your lips so you will keep buying it. We may use a lot because as soon as it wears off we reapply it. Lip licking then applying the balm creates a cycle of wetness and dryness that reduces moisture. Physical addiction to lip balm is not possible.
Myth 4 says that everyone needs to buy eye cream separately.
The truth is skin around your eyes is very thin and needs a bit more care. Using a very hydrating face cream is fine if carefully applied around your eyes. There is no need for a separate eye cream.
As you can see, some of the myths revolve around ingredients and they may or may not perform. Another myth addresses whether you can become addicted to lip balm and again no it is impossible to do so. Two of the myths address the need for specific types of products.
Skin care and beauty products have ingredients in them that are beneficial and others that are harmful. The good ingredients need to be present in high quantities in order to provide the best results. The best skin care product should be free of chemicals, preservatives and fillers.
Three good ingredients that are very beneficial to your skin are Cynergy TK which is a new substance that actually supports your body in building its own collagen and elastin again.

It keeps your skin flexible and firm and you will see good results as it helps your skin to retain its natural moisture.
CoQ10 comes in different forms that are not the same. CoQ10 cannot penetrate the skin. The nano-emulsified form called Nano-Lipobelle H-EQ10 can penetrate the skin. In fact, it can penetrate through to seven layers with good and longer lasting results. It is also a very powerful antioxidant and works to rid your skin of free radicals that can damage your skin.
Phytessence Wakame is a Japanese Sea kelp and it blocks the enzyme called hyaluronidase. This enzyme destroys the skins naturally occurring hyaluronic acid. Without hyaluronic acid the collagen and elastin fibers would lose the ‘glue’ that keeps them together. Without it, your skin will sag and you will get wrinkles and dark circles around your eyes. Together, these three ingredients make up the strongest skin care and beauty products compound available.
The harmful ingredients include parabens and a substance called dioxanes that have both been linked to causing cancer. Alcohols are drying and irritating to the skin. Mineral oil does not let the skin breathe as it clogs the pores. Your skin can become dependent on it and it can with prolonged use, irritate and dry out your skin.

Does Your Character Need a Makeover?

Your character is one thing that defines you. It is either pleasant or not. Character is built over the years. It started when you were very young. Parents usually take the greatest part of a person’s character formation. What they taught them during his younger years will serve as his foundation for his future character.
Although character is influenced by others, it is still the person’s decision on what trait to acquire. But most of the time, he adapts certain unpleasant traits unnoticeably which makes him insensitive to others responses to the way he deals with them.
For some, what others say does not matter. But for most, it is often worthwhile to hear what others think of you. It is a great way of knowing yourself better and learning how others perceive you. It is also an opportunity to clear some misconception about you and hear some suggestion on how you can improve yourself. This does not mean that you have to change into someone you are not. You will not buy hair straighteners immediately after one suggested that you straighten your hair, right? Before you consider his suggestion, you will look at yourself in the mirror and check if it does look good on you.
Hearing others’ suggestions is like that. You don’t follow them right away, you think about it first and assess if it is the right thing to do.
Not everyone has a very likeable character. And even if you are someone who has one, you cannot please everybody. To make sure that other people like who you are, follow the golden rule; if you don’t like to be treated in such a way, don’t treat others that way. If you are annoyed by people who are so conceited, then don’t be like one. Most of the time, we hate others because of a certain trait only to find out that we act the same way they do.
If you want to assess your character, you have to recall the past things that you have done. Think of the people who are closest to you. Are they still there? Do they like having you around? Do you have a lot of good friends and do they keep in touch? If people come and go in your life as fast as the fashion trend goes, then you probably need talk to someone you can trust. They may have something to say that you don’t know yet; something that no hair straighteners can change.
And try not to resist what you will hear. It is often difficult to hear unpleasant things about you from someone, but you have to be open to that before change can take place.
Your character says a lot about who you are. And since it is something you have developed during your lifetime, it is difficult to change when you found out that only few people can stand it. If you want to change, you have to assess yourself and listen to what others have to say. It would be better if you talk to someone you can trust and do your best to change for the better.

Summer Hair

Although long-awaited (especially when you live in Maine, as I do), summer brings with it its own seasonal beauty challenges, such as:
1. Exposed bikini lines;

2. Bare, white legs;

3. Open-toed sandals and look-at-me feet;

4. Drips of perspiration;

5. Increased sun exposure;

6. Frizzy hair;

7. Melting make-up;

8. Unsightly insect bites.
And the list goes on…
So, to help us enjoy all the advantages of summer without forsaking our looks, we’ll examine each of these potential challenges over the next few weeks and see how to overcome them naturally. First off:
Exposed Bikini Lines
Yikes! If you tried on a bikini or high-cut swimsuit recently, you may have noticed that your bikini area needs some extra TLC, now that it is going to be on public display.
While there are several ways to accomplish this, such as trimming, shaving, waxing, laser and electrolysis, there is a great method that can be done in the comfort of your own home, using natural ingredients and with “relatively” little discomfort.
It’s called Sugaring.
If you are not familiar with this hair removal method, it dates back to ancient Egyptian times and, as the name suggests, consists of using a sugar paste to remove hair from the follicle. The basic paste is made from sugar, lemon juice and water and can be enhanced with essential oils to further soothe the skin.
I should mention that if you are new to bikini hair removal, you will probably rate your (dis)comfort level on a par with waxing. However, the upside is subsequent hair re-growth is slower, less painful and easier to remove.
You can also take a little jar of the paste with you on your travels and have it on hand to remain hair-free, especially when you need to tame any wild chin hairs or keep your upper lip mustache-free!
Benefits of Sugaring:
• All natural ingredients;

• No razor burn!;

• Sugar paste does not adhere to the skin, only to the hair, so there is little, if any, skin irritation;

• Rinses away with water, so you don’t have to worry if you put the paste in the wrong place or need to remove any residue;

• Removes dead skin cells from the skin’s surface;

• Re-growth becomes sparse and thinner with repeated use;

• Gently removes hair from the root;

• Does not break the hair at the surface;

• No chemical odor;

• Environmentally-friendly.
Although you can make your own sugar paste, there are several professional-grade sugaring products on the market - for both men and women - that will save you a lot of time and effort. The added bonus is that they are also certified organic.

Temporary Vs Permanent Hair Removal

Hair removal has changed considerably in recent years. Gone are the days of the lone blade dragged along the skin. Due to technological and innovative advances, there are now several methods for removing the hair and in some cases inhibiting its growth. No two people have the same hair type or removal requirements. Whereas one person may be satisfied with a good razor, the quick re-growth is an annoyance and chore to another. Hair removal can be both temporary and permanent. Deciding which is appropriate for your personal needs involves some research and contemplation. Evaluate carefully because some of these methods demand a great deal of commitment.
The first point that many will take into consideration is the cost. The price of hair removal can drastically vary depending upon what method is being used. A temporary and short lived solution like shaving can cost as little as a few dollars. It is a quick fix that can be done in a few minutes and is completely pain free. However, within a few days at best the hair is already coming back in. Depilatory creams and drugstore wax kits are also low priced alternatives. Most of them work quite well and are easy to do at home which makes them popular. For those with light or thin hair, these products work very well. People experiencing coarse, dark hair may find that they need to repeat the process too often to be worthwhile.
Most temporary solutions are fairly inexpensive. They also have limited results. Laser hair removal has become a popular and high demand way of dealing with problem hair in recent years. It can be rather costly but most patients who undergo the treatment are incredibly happy with the results. Of course this isn’t for someone who needs to see hair loss immediately. It can take weeks for the hair to fall out after a laser session but it takes much longer to grow back than any other temporary form of hair removal.
For a permanent solution electrolysis is often used to destroy the hair follicle completely, rendering it unable to produce more hair growth. This can be a painful and high priced procedure. Those considering electrolysis should consult certified practitioner’s before attempting anything. There are side effects affiliated with both laser hair removal and electrolysis. Knowing what they are and how they could potentially affect you is absolutely necessary. Any practitioner willing to work on you without your full knowledge of the process should be avoided.
Silky smooth skin that is free of stubble and hair feels fantastic and really adds to the feminine appeal. An easier hair removal technique is something most women long for. Assess your budget along with your personal preferences and needs to decide the hair removal method that is best suited to you. Taking unnecessary risks is never recommended. After all, it is only cosmetic in nature and not at all worth risking your health for. The best hair removal method is the one that makes you feel as good as you look.

Find Safe Cosmetic and Beauty Products Online

The purchase of cosmetics online can pose some challenges - and frankly, there needs to be a fairly high degree of trust when one chooses to buy cosmetics online if one has not used or tried them before. Otherwise, the purchase of cosmetics online can be risky - unless you know what you are looking for.
The fact is that cosmetic and beauty products can vary a great deal in terms of quality and safety. Many of the big global corporate producers of cosmetics seek to maximize profits, even if some people are hurt by toxic products or animals are tortured and killed during the testing and production of cosmetic products. The CEOs and the board of these corporate behemoths simply feel it is cheaper to deal with a few lawsuits than go to the trouble and expense of providing safe, high-quality cosmetic and beauty products.
Other smaller, locally and family-owned producers that sell cosmetics online understand that while it is fine to be profitable, one should not try to be so at the expense of the greater good. Therefore, when you buy cosmetics online, you’ll be better off doing so from such a company.
A Blast From The Past
Cosmetic and beauty products are nothing new - in fact, they’ve been around since the Stone Age. Back then however, women - and men - used mineral cosmetics made from crushed clay and dyes derived from natural substances taken from the earth. Ingredients found in a good quality mineral makeup kit will not block pores and can actually have a beneficial effect on the skin. Unlike cosmetic products that are derived from animal and plant-based sources, powder mineral makeup are chemically inert - meaning that bacteria cannot survive, and there’s no danger of makeup-caused disorders like pinkeye.
What Kind of Mineral Cosmetics Are There?
Any cosmetic products that are produced using animal and plant products are also available in any mineral makeup kit. Available cosmetics online include bases as well as blushes; lipstick, eyeliners and mascara, and concealers.
Incidentally, mineral cosmetics are not just for women who want to beautify themselves. Those who work on the stage will find that a mineral makeup kit is a vast improvement and much safer alternative to the traditional stage makeup that actors must apply night after night before going out before the lights. Considering the stress and strain that having to apply makeup to the skin night after night can cause, this is no bad thing for professional actors!
Doing The Right Thing
When you purchase mineral cosmetics online, you not only support socially responsible businesses, you also do you part to support environmental responsibility and sustainability. Do something good for yourself as well as the planet - shop for mineral cosmetics online.

Healthy Hair Advice

The summer months are the time of the year that your hair grows the fastest, it is also the time of year that your hair takes the most damage. If you spend very much time in the sun or in a pool, you probably already know this. The sun alone can lighten your natural pigment as well as hair that has been treated with color. When you combine the sun’s rays with pool chemicals the two together can cause damage to your hair. You should always take precautions when you’re in the sun for very long, by wearing a hat or scarf. You can also purchase spray-in products that contain a sunscreen for your hair. There are several kinds on the market they are usually under the name “Color protectors” or “Color shields”, and are similar to leave-in conditioners. Using one of these products is one of the best things you can do for your hair in the summer.
Keeping your hair trimmed regularly is important not only to keep its style, but to keep your ends from getting frayed. Not everyone’s hair grows out evenly, some people will notice that one side is thicker than the other, this side usually grows faster too. In some people their hair grows noticeably faster on one side than the other, while others do not. It has been said that the side we sleep on affects this growth difference, but it is most likely hereditary. Not everyone needs to trim their hair every six weeks, some may not need trimming for two to four months. Everyone’s pace of hair growth is different.
Just remember that if it looks like the ends needs trimming or if it’s too long to work into your style, then it time for a trim.
Using the right products for your hair type is another way to keep your hair healthy. If your hair is color-treated or permed you need to be using products formulated for that hair type. If not, you risk having your haircolor fade or your perm to loose its curl. You can buy these products from your stylist, beauty supply or even a discount store. Just make sure it says on the label, that is it safe for color-treated hair or permed hair. Most salon brands carry their own line of color-treated hair products and permed hair products. As for the straight hair wearer, there are many, many products to be found. There are anti-frizz serums, ultra straight balms, straight smoothers and other leave-in gels, that you apply to damp hair and comb through. If you use a flat iron to straighten your hair, you might consider using a flat-iron spray to protect your hair from the heat and control frizzing. Whichever product you use on your hair, you never use hot water to shampoo your hair, hot water is very damaging to your hair cuticle and not good on the scalp either. Instead use warm or cool water to shampoo and rinse your hair, your hair will be much better off.
Having healthy hair goes hand in hand with having a healthy body, if you let you general health go down so does the condition of your hair. A healthy diet and regular exercise affects the hair, so if you take care of yourself your hair is going to show it. Remember, if you can’t always eat right to take a vitamin supplement to give your hair, skin and body what it needs. Always treat your hair with the most care you possibly can, never yank a comb through tangled hair, start at the bottom of your hair and work up. Or you can use a Detangler if your hair is hard to comb through. Just remember if you treat your hair kindly, by keeping it trimmed, using the right products, the right water temperature and taking care of your health your hair will be healthy.

Discovering Cellulite Eraser

You need a cellulite eraser. That is if you have finally decided that you can’t live with cellulite. Don’t let people talk you into thinking that cellulite is just a cosmetic or vanity issue. A lot of people have suffered from depression and low self-esteem just because of cellulite.
There is nothing wrong with wanting to look your best. Before you do use any cellulite solution, you should first have some important things in mind.
No Fast Solutions
Keep in mind that there are no miracle cures for cellulite. It is virtually impossible to get rid of it overnight. You should therefore never believe in miracle cures. Products that seem to instantly get rid of the appearance of cellulite are only concealers that eventually wear off after some time. After a day or two, your skin will look as dimpled as before. In the long run, it is better to trust a product that will honestly make no claims to an absolute cellulite cure.
Topical Applications Work Best
There are several products to choose from. Various products have different levels of effectiveness on different individuals. Topical applications however seem to have a higher rate of success. Some oral cellulite solutions may actually work but to a limited degree only. This is because cellulite fighting ingredients taken orally have a hard time penetrating through the mass of thick fat. Topical applications can be used directly over cellulite areas. The ingredients can pass directly through the skin.
Natural Products are the Way to Go
Look for products with natural ingredients. Many people now prefer to have a cellulite eraser that has natural ingredients. This is because some synthetic ingredients in other products could produce side effects such as skin allergies. Natural ingredients limit the risk of side effects. Natural ingredients also have more than one purpose. Depending on the blend of natural ingredients, your natural anti cellulite product could help break down fat, improve blood circulation, fight toxins and free radicals and nourish the skin.
You Need to Change Your Habits
Some of your habits may contribute to cellulite formation. Even if you use natural topical products that are truly effective, you could still continue developing even more cellulite if you do not change your habits. Aside from using a natural product, you also have to maintain a healthy diet and a regular exercise regimen. This will ensure that you will stay cellulite free after using a good product.
Correct Application - You should also make it a habit to use your product honestly and diligently as indicated. Some products may not work as effectively if they aren’t used properly. Take the time to read and remember instructions.
Be Careful with Product Shopping
Not all cellulite eraser products are real cellulite fighters. Some manufacturers are simply taking advantage and are dishing out solutions that are really worthless. Be an intelligent shopper. Carefully consider a variety of products. Look through their product pages if they have comprehensive information about their product and cellulite in general. Read reviews and consumer ratings.
